Who we are

At Calm Tides, we offer compassionate, tailored support that’s rooted in what’s important to you and your family—helping children and young people navigate life’s challenges with strength, resilience, and purpose. Through therapy, workshops, and training, we empower clients to face fear and uncertainty with strength, resilience, and purpose—guiding them toward meaningful growth and the life they want to lead.

We believe every child and family deserves access to meaningful, high-quality support - no matter their circumstances. As a not-for-profit organisation, our mission is to make therapy, workshops and parenting support more accessible to all, creating pathways to help that are tailored, affordable and community-driven.

Sarah O’Prey UKBA (cert), BCBA

Sarah has over over two decades of experience supporting children experiencing behavioural and emotional challenges.

“My current practice is dedicated to helping children and young people navigate challenges related to anxiety, OCD, neurodivergence, and other barriers to living fulfilling lives. For me, when I see someone struggling with overwhelming emotions, it’s a sign they’re facing something difficult beneath the surface.

These responses aren’t the problem themselves - they’re signals pointing to a deeper issue that needs understanding. The real solution lies in uncovering what’s hard for them and why, and then supporting them to build the skills they need to navigate those challenges.

This might include developing tools like effective communication, mindfulness, emotional awareness, and the ability to make thoughtful choices, among many others. The focus isn’t on suppressing what we see on the outside, but on empowering the person from within to respond in new, more helpful ways.

As a parent of three, I am particularly passionate about empowering parents with evidence-based strategies tailored to their unique values and circumstances. Seeing parents apply this knowledge to support their children with compassion and confidence is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

My approach integrates the concept of Psychological Flexibility with proven intervention models such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), and Behavioural Parent Training. As both a professional and a parent, I draw from personal and clinical experience to guide families toward meaningful, sustainable change.”
